Meet the OKS taking on the London Marathon 2025

The 2025 London Marathon takes place on Saturday 27 April, here are just a few of the OKS running the race.

Hamish Courtauld (MO 2008-13) – Home-Start Essex

Hamish will be completing the Marathon to raise funds for Home-Start Essex, a charity that provides home visits, well-being services, emergency meals, and many more to support struggling parents and caregivers.

Hamish has raised £1611 of a £2000 target.

George Courtauld (MO 2006-11) – Suited & Booted

Another member of the Courtauld family, Hamish's brother George is taking on the Marathon to fundraise for Suited & Booted, an organisation that supports veterans, recent prison leavers, and homeless people achieve employment. They do this by styling them in workwear to prepare for an interview and uplift their self-confidence to secure a job that will give them security. 

George has raised £1200 of a £1000 target.

Umar Shariff (MT 1991-96) – Mencap

Umar hopes to make a ‘real difference in the lives of people with learning disabilities’ by dedicating his Marathon to raising funds for Mencap. The charity advocates for inclusion and making people with learning disabilities voices heard by campaigning in parliament, strengthening communities, and providing personal services.

Umar has raised £2302 of a £2500 target.

Alex Preston (TR 2010-15) – The Brain Tumour Charity

In memory of his brother-in-law, Alex is running the Marathon to raise funds for The Brain Tumour Charity. The charity raises awareness of DLGNT, created a community for DLGNT patients, and raises funds for vital brain cancer research.

Alex has raised £25,199 of a £50,000 target.

Natasha Methven (LX 2008-13) – The Brain and Spine Foundation

In memory of fellow OKS Dominic Hamlyn (MT 2008-13), Natasha aspires to ‘be more Dom’ in completing the Marathon to raise funds for The Brain and Spine Foundation as Dominic did in 2014.

The foundation provides information and support for people with neurological conditions in every step of their journey; conditions that effect 1 in 6 people to this day.

Natasha has raised £6158 of a £2000 target.
