Pupils at The King’s School Canterbury are celebrating success following the publication of this year’s A level examination results.
Across the cohort, and before reviews of marking, more than 80% of all grades were awarded at A*-B, while 63% of pupils achieved the “gold standard” of AAB or better, providing a strong foundation for progression to competitive university courses and other ambitious next steps. Almost a quarter of all grades awarded were at the coveted A* grade and over half achieved A* or A, reflecting the excellent achievements of pupils across a wide range of subjects.
This year’s results continue King’s longstanding tradition of academic excellence while highlighting the breadth of achievement across the cohort. Alongside outstanding individual performances, 47 pupils secured straight A*/A profiles across at least three A level subjects, demonstrating sustained academic success at the highest level.
Deputy Head (Academic), Matthew Key, said:
“We are delighted with this year’s results, which reflect both the academic strength of our pupils and the breadth of ambition that characterises a King’s education. This cohort has secured outcomes of which they should be immensely proud.
At King’s, however, success is never defined by examination results alone. Through our King’s Intelligence approach, we seek to develop young people who combine academic excellence with creativity, curiosity, character, collaboration and the confidence to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
This year’s leavers have distinguished themselves not only in the classroom, but also on the sports field, on the stage, in leadership roles, through service to others and in the many wider opportunities that form such an important part of life at King’s. Today’s results are a reflection of that broader journey and of the determination, resilience and sense of purpose that this exceptional cohort has shown throughout their time with us.
We congratulate all of our pupils on their achievements and thank the staff, parents and carers who have supported them. We look forward with great excitement to seeing what they go on to achieve next.”
The School is also celebrating an extremely positive value-added picture, with a significant majority of pupils achieving outcomes beyond those expected at the start of their Sixth Form journey, a testament to their dedication and to the close individual support provided by staff across the School.
As pupils prepare for the next stage of their education and careers, today’s results mark the culmination of years of hard work and commitment. Whether progressing to leading universities, specialist courses, apprenticeships or employment, King’s leavers depart with a strong platform for future success.

These results reflect the quality and rigour of our vocational pathways, which provide an excellent route to higher education, including top Russell Group universities, as well as careers in business, sport and related professions.
At King’s, we recognise that excellence takes many forms. Whether through A-levels, vocational qualifications or a combination of both, our focus is on helping every pupil pursue the pathway that best matches their strengths, ambitions and future aspirations.
