Earlier this year, we were delighted to launch our first ever 'Name a Stone' Appeal', in support of the Charter Awards transformational bursary campaign.
The Appeal offered our OKS a once in a lifetime opportunity to have their messages inscribed onto the very fabric of a King's building. This time, the replacement stones were being installed onto the Gilbert Room at our majestic St Augustine's site.
OKS from across the globe came together to support their School and in doing so, raised nearly £9,000 for the Awards. Of the 15 stones availble for inscription, we are thrilled that 11 were named. Special mention goes to Melanie Cumber (WL 1990-95) who galvanised our Cayman Island Community. Due to their generosity, there will be now be a Cayman Islands corner in the heart of King's for the next 200 years or more!
We are hugely grateful to all those who supported the Appeal and for the lasting impact they will have on our bursary pupils. An enormous thank you also goes to Tom, the King's stonemason for his tireless support and immeasurable talent. Thank you!
The Charter Awards is our transformational bursary campaign, our aim is to fully fund 50 bursaries forever. To find out more, please visit our website.
