Anne Pujadas-Telmon is the Assistant Principal at The King's School International College.
Tell us a little about your life before joining King’s.
I was born in France and moved to England, aged 16, to improve my English during a gap year. I then returned to France to complete my degree, before deciding to undertake a PGCE in Canterbury. My first teaching position as a Newly Qualified Teacher was at Sir Roger Manwood’s Grammar School in Sandwich, where I remained for 25 years. During that time, I progressed from classroom teacher to Senior Assistant Headteacher. Along the way, I was in various posts, including Boarding Tutor, Advanced Skills Teacher, Trip Organiser, Head of Department, and Head of Year. You name it, I’ve probably done it!
What has been the highlight of the year at the International College so far?
Without a doubt, the Culture Fair has been the standout event of the year. Every student participated wholeheartedly, dedicating significant time and energy to preparing dishes from their home countries. The dining hall was transformed into a vibrant marketplace, with each stall decorated with flags, photographs, and historical insights celebrating the students’ diverse backgrounds. The food was not only delicious but a real testament to the pride and effort each student invested. It was a truly memorable and uplifting day.
What are you most passionate about?
The reason I entered the teaching profession is to provide students with meaningful opportunities for both academic and personal growth. I strive to help them realise their full potential and believe in their ability to achieve their dreams. Education is a deep-rooted value in my family—many of us are teachers—so you could say it’s in my DNA.
If you could offer International College pupils one lasting takeaway, what would it be?
I would love to give each student a photograph of themselves taken on their first day here. It would serve as a powerful reminder of how much they change in a year or two —how they grow in confidence, become more independent, and develop a global perspective. The transformation we witness in such a short time is remarkable, and I wish every student could see themselves through our eyes.
What’s at the top of your bucket list?
To take a three-month RV trip across both the North and South Islands of New Zealand. The idea of exploring such breathtaking landscapes at my own pace is incredibly appealing.
