The International College was a hive of activity as it hosted its highly anticipated annual Culture Fair, a vibrant celebration of diversity and global traditions. Featuring the representation of 18 nationalities, the event brought together cultural stalls brimming with delicious cuisine, refreshing drinks, fascinating facts and creative presentations that offered attendees a truly immersive experience.
A standout moment came from Jao’s sister, who made a heartfelt contribution to the Brazilian stall. Her generous efforts ensured the timely delivery of 50 brigadeiros, mini condensed milk chocolate sweets much cherished in Brazil. These delectable treats, which arrived promptly in the morning, delighted attendees with their rich flavour and cultural significance.
Students and staff joined forces to bring the event to life, with students enthusiastically cooking and preparing dishes under the careful supervision of staff. By early afternoon, the Dining Hall and stairway were bustling with activity as stalls were meticulously arranged and vibrant decorations adorned the space, creating an inviting and festive atmosphere.
While the students enjoyed their food and drink, talented performers showcased their musical talents on the mezzanine music stage throughout the afternoon. Solo and duo songs from China, Korea, Ukraine, Russia and Italy, specially chosen for the event by the students themselves, were interspersed with an appearance by the 12-piece IC Band and performances on traditional instruments.
This remarkable event exemplified the College’s unwavering dedication to promoting cultural understanding and inclusivity. The IC Culture Fair has once again been a standout event of the year, bringing students and staff together to celebrate shared traditions and the incredible diversity of our global community.
