On 15 January 2025, The King’s School International College proudly unveiled their new Eco-Schools Green Flag, marking a significant milestone in their journey towards sustainability and environmental stewardship. This prestigious award is a nationwide accreditation recognising schools and nurseries that excel in creating and delivering sustainability initiatives on their campuses.
The unveiling ceremony was a special moment for the International College community. Mr Kadinopoulos, a dedicated advocate for sustainability within the school, delivered an inspiring presentation highlighting the journey to achieving the Green Flag and the positive environmental impact of the projects undertaken. Adding a celebratory touch to the event, the International College band performed a rendition of Joni Mitchell’s iconic song Big Yellow Taxi, reminding everyone of the importance of preserving our natural world.

Last year, the International College embarked on this exciting initiative for the first time, successfully completing three engaging and meaningful projects:
The IC also hosted an Environmental Day for Year 9s, 10s, and 4s, featuring sustainability-focused activities and a sustainably sourced picnic. Collaboration has been at the heart of their efforts, as the college partnered with The King’s School Canterbury and Junior King’s School to tackle environmental challenges and raise awareness.
