We are pleased to share that The King’s School Canterbury have won the IDPE Ambition and Progress Award 2024.

This award recognises our commitment to developing and delivering a sustainable, long-term fundraising strategy that reflects the School’s strategic aspirations and ambitions. It also marks an important step-change in how philanthropy is achieved and perceived here at King’s.

Over the past year, the Development Team have:

  • Made bursary fundraising a main priority with the launch of The Charter Awards
  • Introduced the 1541 Society - A regular giving club
  • Re-launched the legacy club with The Robert Rose Society
  • Published the first King's Social Impact report
  • Introduced a new organisation for the whole King's Community - The King's Association

Following the Campaign launch in October 2023, King’s has been building on its proud tradition of supporting bursaries through the Charter Awards Campaign, shaping a vision for the future where no talented child has to turn down a place due to family circumstances. The remarkable progress we have seen so far in this Campaign is thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our incredible King’s community – thank you to everyone who has supported us so far.

Jenny Grant, Director of Development, says:

“We are absolutely delighted to have been presented this award by the IDPE. It has been a huge privilege to launch The Charter Awards Campaign, to be able to raise funds to transform young people’s futures and to embed a culture of philanthropy into the heart of the King’s community. Thank you to the fabulous Development Team, to the IDPE and to all our donors and supporters.”

The Development Team are: Jenny Grant (Director of Development), Bryony Dutta (Head of Philanthropy), Darren Ellis (Development Officer), Molly Burgess (Engagement Manager), Yuliya Campbell (Events Coordinator) and Chloe Sawbridge (Administrator).
