OKS & King's Association News |
On Tuesday 20 February, two OKS were invited to a lunch at 10 Downing Street to mark 40 years of London Fashion Week. The Fashion Founders Lunch was hosted by the Sunak's and saw twenty fashion founders come together to celebrate British fashion. Eliza Batten (HH 2011-16) was invited as co-founder of The Cirkel, a second hand online shopping platform. Pip Durell (BR 2005-10) was also there as founder of With Nothing Underneath, a sustainable shirting brand for women.
Eliza and Pip were pictured with Akshata Murty, businesswoman, fashion designer, and the Prime Minister's wife, who was wearing a shirt from With Nothing Underneath at the event.
On Instagram, Pip said:
"I am so proud that WNU was given a seat at the table. Fun fact: the fashion industry brings more to the UK economy than the car industry! London Fashion Week is an important highlighter of the jobs, revenue and creativity the industry brings to our country. It was such an honour to be a part of the conversation - and even more of an honour to have our hostess in With Nothing Underneath.
P.S. I told the Prime Minister the house looks exactly like it does in Love Actually and he agreed.
Congratulations to Eliza and Pip on this incredible experience. We look forward to watching your brands grow!
