Cricketer Ollie Robinson (MT 2007-10) has been awarded the Bob Willis Trophy for England Player of the Year at the Cricket Media Club Annual Awards 2026. The trophy follows Ollie's outstanding comeback to Test cricket this summer, during which he took 28 wickets in four Tests at an average of 9.32.
Ollie returned to the England Test side in June 2026 after a two-year absence, having last played in India in February 2024. During that period, he continued to excel for Sussex, captaining the county and producing the performances that earned him an international recall.
In his first Test back, Ollie took three wickets in his opening over, prompting pundits to describe it as "one of the most extraordinary comeback overs of all time."
He went on to play a key role in England's summer success and was named the Rothesay Men's Test Player of the Summer following England's 3-0 Test series victory over Pakistan in September 2026.
A huge congratulations to Ollie on winning the trophy, and for his impressive return to Test cricket this summer.
