On Friday 13th February 2026, more than 20 OKS (spanning a wide range of years and Houses) and current parents gathered in Dubai for a fantastic evening of drinks, food and great company at the beautiful The Dhow & Anchor Pub.

While the familiar views of Canterbury Cathedral may have been replaced by warm sunshine and sweeping sea views, with the iconic Burj Al Arab standing proudly on the horizon, the spirit of King’s felt just as strong in Dubai as it does in the heart of Canterbury.

The relaxed and lively setting provided the perfect backdrop for the evening as old friendships were rekindled and new connections formed. Stories were shared and memories revisited as everyone enjoyed delicious food and drinks.

The evening was a wonderful reminder that while you can take a King’s pupil out of King’s, you can never take King’s out of an OKS. The strength of the King’s community clearly stretches far beyond Canterbury, and Friday night proved just how enduring those bonds truly are.
