Why Art History?

Presented by Tatyana Kalaydjian Serraino (BY 2013-15)

Tatyana is an Art Historian and Art Vlogger with a BA from the University of Cambridge (St John’s College) and an MA from John Cabot University in Rome. She currently lives in Rome where she works as a Tour Guide and Art Consultant and is researching for a Ph.D. in Armenian art that she plans to embark upon in the coming years.

She also runs her own Youtube Channel and Blog entitled AboutArt which features short fast-paced videos on works of art from all over the world. Her vision is to talk about art in a way that is accessible, fast, and fresh, and to provide her audience with a fresh take on the discipline.

In her talk, Tatyana addresses how she got into art history and why she loves operating in the art world. In addition, by analysing certain works of art, she hopes to open your eyes to the endless possibilities of the art history, and address why we should study, critique, and decipher the art that surrounds us.
