Mark Burges Watson (GR 1980-85)
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mark Burges Watson (JKS 1975–80, GR 1980–85). Known throughout his school and university days as “Burge”, he died after a brave battle with cancer on 12 January 2026, surrounded by his family.
Mark had very fond memories of his time at King’s and kept in close touch with a number of OKS friends over the years.
Before his death, Mark established a foundation, Burge’s Meadows, which will continue his legacy through a commitment to plant 1,000 acres of wildflower meadows across England and Wales by 2035.
