On Sunday 7 June, our first-ever Team King’s took part in an inspiring 10K along the Kent coast in support of this year’s Giving Day.
The team was made up of 22 intrepid runners from across the King’s community, including parents, staff, OKS and pupils, and led by our Head, Jude Lowson. Together, they took on the challenge of strong sea breezes, kilometres of sand and dramatic clifftops, raising both support and awareness for our transformational bursary fund, The Charter Awards.
Whether aiming for a personal best or simply to cross the finish line, the results were a triumph. More importantly, the atmosphere was one of encouragement and camaraderie. Supporters lined the route, motivating runners along the way, while teammates spurred each other on, creating a tangible sense of unity from start to finish.
We were thrilled that several members of the team received well deserved trophies, and every runner crossed the line within their target time:
What’s more, thanks to the enthusiasm and commitment of everyone involved - and the generosity of those who sponsored them - the Team raised over £1,000 in donations and surpassed their £500 target, meaning they unlocked an additional £2,000 gift.
Thank you to everyone who took part - those who ran, donated, volunteered and cheered. Your support made this event a great success and a wonderful demonstration of what can be achieved when the King’s community comes together. We can't wait for next year!
There is still time to support Team King's. If you would like to sponsor their efforts and find out more about the Giving Day, please visit our King's Giving Day Website or get in touch with the Development Team via: community@kings-school.co.uk . Thank you so much for your support.
