The Development Office is delighted to share the remarkable impact of King’s Calling 2025, the School’s first telephone campaign in more than 15 years. Over two weeks this summer, 13 enthusiastic and talented recent leavers reached out to members of the King’s community across the UK and overseas reconnecting, reminiscing, and raising funds for a brighter future.
Through heartfelt conversations, the Callers shared stories, listened to cherished memories, and built connections that often led to mentoring opportunities and career advice. Many of those called also chose to support the Charter Awards, King’s transformational bursary campaign. In total,
Thanks to their generosity, the campaign raised an outstanding £80,445 and brought the School one step closer to its goal of funding 50 free places at King’s forever. The House that raised the most donations was Linacre (14), Walpole (9) followed by Luxmoore, Marlowe and Galpins all with 7.
“Your call was part of a wonderful initiative, and I must congratulate you on how well you played your part – a great reflection both on you and on the School.”
— John Revington (SH 1961–66)
Whether you answered the call, sent words of encouragement, or made a donation thank you. Your support means the world to us, to our young callers, and especially to the bursary holders whose education you make possible.
The campaign also had a profound impact on the student callers themselves, who gained valuable experience in communication, teamwork, and community engagement. It was a joy to reconnect with so many members of the King’s network, and the School is excited to build on the success and momentum of this initiative.
We would like to to thank our wonderful callers as without them none of this would have been possible.
For those who were not able to take part this year, there’s good news: King’s Calling will now be a regular fixture, returning every two years. We can’t wait to speak with even more of you next time.
