Showing our Appreciation at the Benefactors' Garden Party

Thank you for your support.

On the Friday of King's Week in the golden sunshine, we were honoured to welcome over 70 King's supporters and friends for our first ever Benefactors' Garden Party. This year, guests included, amongst others, members of the 1541 Society; donors to our transformational bursary campaign, The Charter Awards; and leaving families who supported the 'Donate your Deposit' Appeal 2025.

Hosted in the historic Archdeacon's Garden, guests enjoyed catching-up with friends, meeting new members of our community and of course, the legendary King's sausage rolls! Jude also gave a warm welcome address, expressing her heartfelt gratitute and celebrating the impact of philanthropy at King's.

My two years at King’s has taught me time and time again that this school is an incredibly special place, but during King’s week that magic is even more palpable – and in amongst the energy, and fun, and wonder of this week, the Serenade stands as one the most beautiful and moving traditions here at King’s.

I am so delighted to be able to welcome you all as supporters of the school to share in that tradition with us and to be amongst friends of the school on one of the most special evenings of the year.

The generosity of our benefactors has touched every corner of King’s life – from sport, to music – boats to beekeeping and of course bursaries. We see the impact of your kindness in the strengths of this extraordinary community in so many ways. I want to thank you all for your support for this special place – this unique school.

Jude Lowson, Head

Following the reception, guests moved to the majestic Water Tower Garden for the Serenade, the flagship event of Kings Week. As the sun set, The Serenade Choir performed an electic mix of evening melodies, including Parry, Gershwin and a selection of Spirituals. The evening ended with the premiere performance of Eric Whitacre's The Seal Lullaby. The talent as ever was astonishing!

Thank you to all those who joined us. We are so grateful for your support and we hope that you enjoyed this special evening.
