Fundraising News |
This summer, the King’s community will once again come together in a unique and meaningful way through the King’s Calling telephone campaign, a two-week celebration of connection, conversation, and community spirit.
From 19 August to 1 September, a team of 13 enthusiastic King’s pupils (both 6th Formers and recent leavers) will be reaching out to OKS, parents and friends of the school. Their mission? To share the latest news from King’s, reconnect across generations, and invite support for The Charter Awards, our transformational bursary campaign.
King’s Calling is about much more than fundraising. At its heart, it’s about stories. It’s a chance to share your memories of King’s, tell us about your journey since leaving, and offer your thoughts on OKS communications and events.
We look forward to speaking to as many of you as possible across the two weeks, and to thank you for your friendship to King’s.
FAQS:
What are the Charter Awards?
Education can change lives. Bursaries can open doors to new experiences and put young people on different paths, helping them to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
Through the Charter Awards, King’s aims to build on our proud tradition of supporting bursaries, providing 50 full means-tested places, 500 years after our first 50 scholars. Phase one of our campaign (2023–2026) aims to raise £3m towards this target, supporting more children who have the ability and determination to have their lives transformed by a King’s education.
You can find out more about the Charter Awards here.
Can I be part of the campaign even if I can’t donate?
Absolutely. We understand that not everyone is able to give financially and that’s okay. Every conversation matters. Whether you’d like to share a favourite King’s moment, offer some advice to our recent leavers, or simply enjoy a friendly catch-up, our callers would love to hear from you.
I’d prefer not to receive a call. How do I let you know?
Of course. If you'd rather not receive a phone call, all you need to do is let us know and we'll respect your wishes fully. Please get in touch with the Development Team to update your communication preferences: community@kings-school.co.uk, 01227 595 778.
Can I still donate without receiving a call?
If you would still like to donate, we would be incredibly grateful for your support. You can donate online, make a bank transfer or send a cheque. For more information on different ways to give, please visit our website or get in touch with the Development Team.
For any further questions, please contact Darren Ellis, Development Officer (dje@kings-school.co.uk, 01227 595 778). We would be delighted to hear from you.
